HOME // ROBOTIKER-Tecnalia // INTERNATIONAL

One of the main goals of TECNALIA is to become a benchmark agent at an international level within the area of Technological Innovation, considering Europe as its domestic market and the world as its natural market.

TECNALIA is working to position itself on the international scenario, not only as a supplier of Technology and Innovation, but also as a top tier strategic partner. Thus, it assumes a global approach to the markets, taking advantage of the experience of the Centres, members and associates in the different countries to foster their joint offer.

The European Projects have provided ROBOTIKER-Tecnalia with a traditional channel to generate pre-competitive knowledge, aligned with its lines of specialisation. ROBOTIKER-Tecnalia has successfully begun its participation in the VII Framework Programme, developing 14 projects with an approximate return of €3.8 million and heading 2 projects. The Centre has participated in more than 125 European projects throughout its history, heading ten of them.

ROBOTIKER-Tecnalia aims to fit its scientific-technological priorities into the new scenario of the 7th Framework Programme in the medium to long term, backing companies to position themselves therein. In this regard, it aims to play a leading role within the institutional strategy of increasing the global returns of the Framework Programme, improving the industrial participation.

REFERENCES

MCIUDAD (España)

This project provides user-friendly creation tools in the mobile, an optimised execution environment, a model for knowledge warehouse, a proposed specific searching engine and a set of business models for users, for service providers and for third parties, mainly SMEs.
m:Ciudad is a service architecture, a set of mobile tools and a platform to allow users to create focused, knowledge-based mobile micro-services, which are called m:Ciudad U+ Services.

eVALUE (Alemania)

The main focus of eVALUE is to define objective methods for the assessment of preventive safety systems. Performance test results generated with the methods developed and presented to the public will help to promote the use of safety systems based on ICTs. The presence of common test and evaluation methods will allow the assessment of the overall safety performance of a vehicle with respect to the active safety systems. This will increase the public awareness of the benefit of such safety systems regarding road safety.

COMPANIONABLE (UK)

CompanionAble stands for Integrated Cognitive Assistive & Domotic Companion Robotic Systems for Ability & Security. Companionable will provide the synergy of Robotics and Ambient Intelligence technologies and their semantic integration to support a care-giver's assistive environment. This framework also includes support for the cognitive stimulation and therapy management of the care-recipient and will be mediated by a robotic companion (mobile facilitation) working collaboratively with a smart home environment (stationary facilitation).
