SCENARIO
Logistics support is a basic necessity for any economic or social activity. From the manufacturing and distribution industry to transport-providing companies, from storage platforms to infrastructures; they are all actively involved in the supply chain, working together with the ultimate goal of providing the end-customer with the best possible service.
- The manufacturing companies, such as the METAL-MECHANICAL sector, need adequate tools to minimise their production cycles and guarantee the quality of their products and services.
- The distribution sector and logistics and transport operators need to improve the flow of information and materials, optimising the supply, storage, distribution and return of products.
- The CONTAINER AND PACKAGING sector is focused on the need to supply containers with a higher level of added value, better resistance, new functions and a lower amount of waste, combined with effective tools for the management of their production processes and information flow.
ROBOTIKER-Tecnalia has directed and focused its research activities on technological domains that allow these sectors to create and be part of highly competitive supply chains.
EXPERTS IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND COMMUNICATIONS
ICTs offer a wide range of Technologies to facilitate the smooth flow of goods, services and information throughout the entire supply chain, and the appropriate management and control of every aspect of the supply process. In order to successfully attend to these needs, the INFOTECH Unit is highly specialised in ICTs that are able to provide a high level of innovation in the way these companies carry out their activities:
- Extended Digital Company: flow optimisation and management throughout the supply chain, cognitive vision for advanced quality control, automation, control and simulation of industrial processes, improvement of the interaction between man and machine by means of intelligent interfaces, etc.
- Mobility and Localisation: technologies for the localisation of interior and exterior elements, management systems for mobile workforce activities, applications for innovative localisation based services, etc.
- Safety and Interoperability: applications of virtual identity, biometry, management of privacy and confidence in digital environments, interoperability between systems, etc.

BISEL3D: ROBOTISATION AND ON-SITE 3-D CAP MEASUREMENT
Robotised installation equipped with a rotating three-dimensional laser scanner that allows for the on-site inspection of the entire production of cap bevels. This (patented) system scans both bevels of each cap in 1 second, creates a three-dimensional model of each bevel and allows for the creation of hundreds of configurable measures with measurement resolutions of approximately 0.01 mm.
